On Sunday, 20th September, the gates of our 300-acre parkland school opened to welcome over 700 prospective pupils, parents, and family members for the RMS for Girls Whole School Open Day.
From the joyful discovery of Ruspini House Nursery to the dynamic energy of our Sixth Form, the entire school grounds were buzzing with curiosity, discovery, and community spirit.
Inspiration in the Great Hall
One of the defining highlights of the day was the series of addresses held in a bustling Great Hall, where families gathered to hear more about the RMS journey.
Attendees heard inspiring speeches from:
Mr. Carson, Headteacher, sharing the vision and ethos that underpin an RMS education.
Ms. Hardy, Deputy Head – Academic, offering invaluable insights into the supportive academic environment.
Eileen (Year 8), who captivated the audience with a candid, vibrant perspective on life in the Senior School.
Alessia (Year 13), who spoke eloquently about her leadership journey and the endless opportunities available in the Sixth Form.
Feedback from families following the addresses was overwhelmingly positive, with many citing the authentic, confident voices of our pupils as the standout element of their visit.
Hands-On Learning Across 300 Acres
Throughout the morning and afternoon, visitors toured our extensive facilities across Ruspini House, Cadogan House Prep School, the Senior School, and the Sixth Form.
Led by our passionate pupil guides, families were able to experience the true warmth of the RMS community while getting hands-on in every academic department.
Highlights included:
Interactive Science Experiments: Young visitors tested, measured, and observed live demonstrations in our science laboratories.
Design & Technology Workshop: Pupils and visitors demonstrated precision skills with practical woodworking and soldering tasks in the DT workshops.
Dramatic Performances: The Drama Department gave visitors an exciting sneak peek behind the scenes with a pre-production rehearsal showcase of Chicago.
Gymnastics in the Sports Centre: Athletic flair was on full display with dynamic gymnastics displays in the Sports Centre.
Culinary Arts: Baking sessions that brought delicious aromas and hands-on fun to the department.
Humanities & English Displays: Creative work showcases that highlighted the deep literacy and critical thinking cultivated across all year groups.
300+ Acre Exploration: Families took full advantage of the September sunshine to walk the grounds, explore our outdoor learning spaces, and enjoy refreshments.
