What makes Little Ferns special?

Tucked safely behind our nursery gates lies something truly special - over 300 acres of private estate that only our children get to explore. No public access. Just wide open space, secret paths, and the chance to spot deer, geese, pheasants, bees and more!

Not all nurseries are created equal. Ours is part nursery, part secret garden, part wild adventure…

Exploring the Great Outdoors

Imagine your child exploring trim trails, discovering the secrets of walled gardens, having stories in glamping pods, or learning in our very own dedicated woodland classroom. This expansive natural setting provides endless opportunities for safe adventure and discovery, encouraging a deep connection with the natural world.

Children can observe the RMS bee hives, engage in hands-on learning, and discover the wonders of biodiversity right on their doorstep. This rich outdoor tapestry ensures that every day brings new possibilities for exploration, helping children develop a sense of wonder, resilience, and a lifelong love for the outdoors.

Exploring the Great Outdoors

Extraordinary Beginnings

Our fortnightly toddler group for children from 16 months, and their parent or carer, is designed to help your child grow in confidence - while giving you a chance to explore what life at our nursery is really like. Held in our woodland classroom and expressive art spaces, Little Ferns offers a calm, creative environment where little ones can begin to stretch, move, and make sense of the world through:

- Sensory-rich activities rooted in movement, nature, and expression
- Open-ended invitations to play inspired by Reggio Emilia approaches
- Social and emotional connections with peers and trusted adults
- Gentle routines that reflect the rhythms of our nursery day

Little Ferns is such a wonderful toddler group. My daughter always looked forward to going and exploring all the fantastic activities on offer. She especially loved exploring the woodland classroom and getting stuck into the sensory activities.

It gave her the opportunity to meet other children she would later transition to nursery with, and to become familiar with the setting. This made the move to nursery so much smoother, which is often a big worry for parents.

Our Ethos

At Ruspini House nursery, strong, trusting relationships form the heart of everything we do, giving each child the confidence to explore, ask questions, and grow at their own pace. With research-led practice, hands-on learning, and the space to wonder, whether indoors or out, we create a foundation that’s as thoughtful as it is joyful. Because when your child feels seen, safe, and inspired, there’s no limit to where their journey can lead.

No matter where else I looked nothing shone through as well as RMS does and I really believe you’ve done an amazing thing with Little Ferns for both prospective children and parents – so thank you – it’s made us feel integrated before we have even begun and like a big milestone moment for us has had more of a phased and gradual approach.
