Entry into Hind House Sixth Form looks at much more than just exam results alone—we take a rounded, individual approach to every applicant. Unlike many traditional sixth forms, our entry criteria are not dictated by GCSE grades alone.

While candidates must meet expected subject specific GCSE entry criteria (typically a Grade 6 or above in subjects to be studied at A Level), the admissions process looks closely at the whole person through:

• Discussion & Interview: A personal meeting with the Head of Sixth Form or a senior member of staff to explore your daughter’s academic interests, career aspirations, and extracurricular passions.
• School Reference & Predicted Grades: A confidential reference and track record of predicted GCSE grades provided by her current school, demonstrating her academic potential and work ethic.
• Attitude to Learning: A demonstrated track record of commitment, self-motivation, and curiosity in her studies.

The formal registration deadline for Sixth Form entry (including scholarship and bursary applications) is in mid-October preceding the year of entry.

Our offer timeline works as follows:

• Registration Deadline: Mid-October (for entry the following September).
• Interviews & Assessments: Conducted during October and early November.
• Unconditional Offers: Made in November, subject to a satisfactory interview and current school reference.

Note: While the primary offer round takes place in November, we do consider late applications throughout Year 11 subject to place availability.

Alongside a core choice of 28 A-Level subjects, the RMSEdge framework embeds timetabled enrichment and personal growth directly into the weekly timetable through key strands:

• RMS Choices (Timetabled Enrichment): Dedicated timetable time for non-examined electives to broaden intellectual horizons. Options include the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Phenomenon-Based Learning, Design challenges, Study Skills, and Community Volunteering.
• Futures & Life Skills: Practical PSHCE modules covering real-world topics such as personal finance, political systems, workplace diversity, personal branding, and wellbeing in professional spheres.

Yes. We offer Sixth Form scholarships at 16+ entry to recognise and support outstanding talent, alongside means-tested bursaries.

Sixth Form Scholarships (16+)

Scholarships carry a discretionary fee remission (up to a maximum of 25% of fees) and offer recipients specialised extension opportunities, leadership roles, and mentoring:

• Disciplines Offered: Academic, Art, Drama, Music, and Sport (with All-Rounder awards made at the Headteacher’s discretion for excellence in multiple areas).
• Assessment Timing:
  • Scholarship assessments and auditions take place during November of Year 11 preceding September entry.
  • Candidates sit discipline-specific practical assessments, portfolio reviews, auditions, or academic papers alongside an interview with relevant heads of department.

Means-Tested Bursaries

For candidates whose families could not otherwise afford tuition fees, means-tested bursaries are also available for Sixth Form entry:

• Award Amounts: Bursary support may be awarded up to 50% of tuition fees, depending on financial need and available funding. Priority is given to applicants for whom the bursary will be most transformational.
• Application Process: Applicants indicate their interest in financial support on the Sixth Form registration form (due by mid-October) and complete a Confidential Statement of Financial Circumstances form with supporting documentation.

Both internal pupils and external candidates are eligible to apply for Sixth Form scholarships and bursaries.
