As our oldest students, Sixth Formers are role models to the whole RMS community.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be encouraged to embrace opportunities for leadership by representing the school at open events, managing activities and mentoring younger pupils.

Formal leadership positions include head pupils, deputy head pupils, prefects, subject ambassadors, sports captains and mentors, but we are firm believers in collective leadership and want all our students to play their part in making RMS a better place.

Prefects

Our Pupil Leadership Team (PLT) serves as the visible heart of the school’s leadership, acting as a vital bridge between the student body and the staff. As a Prefect, you will take on high-level responsibilities, help maintain the school’s ethos, and represent RMS at formal events, all while developing the confidence to lead with integrity.

Subject Ambassadors

If you have a genuine passion for a specific discipline, becoming a Subject Ambassador allows you to champion that department across the school. You’ll assist in promoting your subject to younger years, help run academic clinics, and organise enrichment activities that bring your favorite topics to life beyond the curriculum.

PHAB

The PHAB (Physically Handicapped and Able-Bodied) initiative is one of our most rewarding community programs and runs in conjunction with Merchant Taylor’s School, focusing on building inclusive friendships through weekly activities. Leadership here involves planning inclusive events and fostering a welcoming environment, providing you with a unique perspective on social responsibility and empathy.

Mentoring Students

Mentoring offers a powerful way to give back by supporting younger students both academically and pastorally. Whether you are helping a Year 7 student find their feet or assisting a Year 11 through their GCSEs, you will develop the active listening and coaching skills that are essential for future professional life.

Head of House

Stepping into a Head of House role means becoming the driving force behind House spirit and healthy competition. You’ll be responsible for coordinating teams for Inter-House events, leading House assemblies, and motivating students of all ages to get involved and take pride in their House identity.
