Forest School and Outdoor Learning on a 300-Acre Campus

At RMS, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow in the great outdoors. That is why we are so proud of our RMSGO programme, a year-round outdoor learning experience that begins in Ruspini House and continues through to Year 6 and beyond.

Set within our 300+ acres of private parkland, our pupils immerse themselves in nature under the guidance of a qualified Forest School leader. Key benefits include:

• Character Development: Beyond den building and pond dipping, pupils develop resilience, independence, and self-reflection.

Sport and Exercise

It is our mission to help pupils develop a love for physical activity that lasts a lifetime. Our extensive grounds and indoor sports facilities provide the perfect setting for a wide variety of disciplines. While our pupils primarily focus on hockey, netball, and cricket, we also field competitive teams in:

• Tennis

With the support of specialist coaches, we balance elite performance—with many pupils earning representative honours at local and national levels—with inclusive participation. We ensure an environment where pupils of all abilities can flourish.

Music

Music in Cadogan House enables pupils to develop self-discipline, imagination, and sensitivity. We are proud that our choirs and ensembles encourage friendships across year groups, contributing to the deep sense of community and inclusivity that defines our school.

• Individual Tuition: Many pupils take group or individual instrumental lessons with professional musicians.

• Performance Opportunities: We host formal and informal concerts every term, welcoming parents to see their children shine.

Drama and Performing Arts

Our pupils love to perform! From spectacular annual productions to dance showcases, drama allows our girls to build incredible self-confidence. We offer group Speech and Drama lessons from Year 4 upwards, often leading to recognised graded examinations.

Co-Curricular Clubs

Our wide array of after-school clubs allows pupils to uncover new passions. Coding, Lego, Ballet, Chess, Drama, Fencing, Escape Rooms, Sewing, Street Dance, Power Walking, Fashion & Design – our pupils are truly spoilt for choice!

Educational Trips and Visiting Speakers

We believe that learning comes to life when it moves beyond the four walls of a classroom. Our trip schedule includes:

• Cultural & Physical Trips: Visiting landmarks like the British Museum to bring history to life.

• Residential Experiences: Starting in Year 3, our residential trips to Cornwall and Shropshire teach vital social skills, teamwork, and independence.

• Inspirational Speakers: We regularly host experts who share their knowledge and skills to stimulate curiosity and debate.
