RMS for Girls is delighted to announce another exceptional year of A-level results, with our students achieving higher value added than 90% of independent schools in the UK.
To celebrate this success, we spoke with members of the class of 2024 to learn about their exciting next steps and how RMS has played a pivotal role in shaping their futures.
Here’s Sara’s Story.
Sara, can you tell us about your results and what you are doing next?
I achieved 3 A*s in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics. I was particularly pleased with Physics as it was the subject I found the most difficult and had put the most time and effort into, so it was really rewarding to get an A*.
In September I’ll be starting my BSc in Mathematics with Economics at University College London.
What’s been your favourite thing about RMS Sixth Form?
I think my favourite part of RMS Sixth Form is how much closer everyone is, especially with the mixed forms between Year 12 and Year 13. It definitely helped in Year 12 to see the Year 13 students working on their personal statements.
What are you looking forward to the most about your next step?
I think I am mostly looking forward to exploring careers to do after uni and what skills I need to learn and develop for them. It’s quite exciting figuring out what I enjoy.
How has RMS supported you during your time at the School?
I think RMS encouraged me a lot throughout Sixth Form, especially when it came to super-curricular activities. The teachers always suggested books to read, masterclasses to attend, and events to participate in to understand our subjects better. Some even lent us books they read during university, with their notes, which was extremely useful.
What would you say to someone who is considering Sixth Form at RMS?
RMS is an amazing school, with such incredible teachers who you can tell really love their subjects.
Since the classes in Sixth Form are much smaller than senior school it’s so much easier to ask questions, even if it’s something not in the course. The teachers are always happy to explore or explain new topics.
This summer, I attended a two-day Asset Management work experience at HSBC. I mainly wanted to explore different areas of finance to better understand which align best with my skills and also where I needed to develop further.
