RMS for Girls is delighted to announce another exceptional year of A-level results, with our students achieving higher value added than 90% of independent schools in the UK.
To celebrate this success, we spoke with members of the class of 2024 to learn about their exciting next steps and how RMS has played a pivotal role in shaping their futures.
Here’s Maaria’s story.
Maaria, can you tell us your results and what you are doing next?
My name is Maaria, I got A*, A, A. I’m off to UCL to study medicine.
What are you looking forward to the most about your next step?
I mean, just studying medicine is so exciting! Also, they have amazing libraries [at UCL] so I’m really excited to use those because I love my classics and my history as well as my STEM subjects. It will be nice to have exposure to everything.
What’s been your favourite thing about RMS Sixth Form?
My favourite thing about Sixth Form was the freedom that we got to manage our own time and our schedules, and that just boded really well for me in developing my organisation skills.
How has RMS supported you during your time at the School?
I've been here since Year 2 [in Cadogan House] and RMS has always been so supportive
My teachers have always introduced me to new clubs, so I’ve always had lots of opportunities. With my application process in particular, they really made sure they went through my personal statement thoroughly and gave me exposure to the interview process for medicine, and that all made me a lot more confident in applying.
What would you say to someone who is considering Sixth Form at RMS?
I think there are so many wonderful things about RMS, but I would say one of the things that I love about it is that it’s not very pressurising.
It's a much more nurturing and supportive environment and I think that makes you feel like you have a lot more confidence to pursue what you want to do
