Last weekend, six swimmers from the Prep School participated in the National School Swimming Relay Championships in Sheffield.
Isabelle, Cordelia, Isabella, Gia, Cyce, and Lois have dedicated themselves to preparing for this event, putting in long hours to perfect their starts and refine their takeovers.
After a sensational swim in the freestyle heats, our swimmers went into the final as the second fastest.
The group knew that teams would be on their tail and fighting hard to knock them off that position, but they held their nerve.
Isabelle started off strong with a time of under 15 seconds. Gia and Isabella also achieved personal bests, while Lois also managed to break the 15-second mark.
Thanks to the determination and hard work of the team, they were able to secure second place by a margin of 3/100th of a second and were awarded the national silver medals with pride.
Next came the medley relay, where we made it to the finals again after a great swim, ranking 5th fastest.
The final race began with Cordelia, who had an amazing backstroke start. Isabelle followed with a flawless breaststroke swim, elevating us up through the field. Cyce maintained the teams position with a powerful butterfly swim, and Lois ended with an incredible performance.
Powering down to touch the pads 1/100th of a second ahead of the next swimmer, we found ourselves again with National silver medals.
Thank you to the swimmers for making a little piece of RMS history (we have never reached this level of success in swimming before) and to all the parents and staff for your support. Go RMS!
