GCSE Results 2024: Over Half of Results Graded 9-7

Students, families, and friends came together in Hind House, home to RMS Sixth Form, to celebrate our Year 11 cohort’s brilliant GCSE results.

RMS is proud to share that 18% of results were grade 9 (5% nationally), 36% were graded 9-8, and 54% of results were graded 9-7 (21.7% nationally).

These results include 15 incredible students who have attained straight Grade 8 and 9’s in 9 or more GCSE subjects.

This news follows on from last week’s outstanding set of A-level results, and we look forward to continuing to see our Year 11 students thrive as they step up to Sixth Form in September.

Headteacher, Kevin Carson, commented:

“I am absolutely delighted for our students who have achieved fabulous results as a reward for their sustained hard work.

This is a cohort that endured Covid lockdowns in both Year 7 and Year 8, and who overcame that, bonded together as a year group, contributed fully to the life of our school, and who have then attained 54% grades 7-9 (A*-A in old money) and 94% grades 9-4 (A*-C) – this is fabulous, and I am really pleased for them all.

The 15 students who attained straight Grade 8 and 9s in 9 or more subjects deserve tremendous praise for their sustained hard work, and I am truly proud of our students’ successes at all ability levels. I can’t wait to see these students flourish in our Sixth Form now!”
