MENU

We are thrilled to celebrate our Sixth Form students as they receive an extraordinary set of A-Level results today. Following months of dedication, hard work, and ambitious focus, the Class of 2026 has achieved outstanding academic success.

Our students have delivered a phenomenal performance across the board:

  • 1 in 5 (20%) of all grades awarded to RMS students were the top A* grade, (National average: 9.6%).
  • Over half of all grades (50%+) were A*–A, (National average: 28%).
  • An outstanding 80% of all grades were A*–B, (National average: 56%).
  • Over a third of students (35%) secured at least one A* grade.

Over 50% of all grades were A*- A across a wide breadth of disciplines, including Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Economics, Geography, Latin, Mandarin, Psychology, Sociology, Design & Technology, and Religious Studies.

"I am extremely pleased by the excellent grades deservedly awarded to this dedicated cohort of RMS students.  For over a third of students to attain A* grades is fabulous, as is over half of all grades being A*-A.  Grades are not everything in life, of course, and this year group have thrown themselves into life at RMS and have developed people skills, team skills, and emotional intelligence that will serve them wonderfully well in life.

- Mr Kevin Carson, Headteacher

Departments across Creative Arts, Languages, Humanities, and STEM saw exceptional individual accomplishments.

Creative Arts & Languages Excel

  • Textiles: A phenomenal 100% A* grades across the cohort.
  • Art & French: 100% of students achieved A*–A grades.

Sensational Growth in Social Sciences

Building on a strong baseline performance in 2025, our Social Sciences departments achieved sensational results in 2026. Almost two-thirds of Psychology students and nearly 60% of Sociology students achieved A* or A grades. Supported by dedicated academic mentoring and focused preparation, both subjects achieved an outstanding 100% pass rate.

"The students are heading off to the likes of Bath, Bristol, Cambridge, Durham, Edinburgh, Exeter, Imperial, Kings, Oxford, Rotterdam, the Royal Veterinary College, UAE, UCL, Warwick (to list just a few) and are studying courses ranging from Architecture to AI, Civil Engineering to Neuroscience, Medicine to Mathematics, Fashion to Pharmacy, and Physics to Global Sustainable Development.  This is the joy of RMS and the range of talents in this year group.  The atmosphere in Hind House this morning was wonderful, and I am delighted for the students, their teachers, and their parents.

DIVERSE FUTURES

The Class of 2026 is moving on to an extraordinarily diverse array of top-tier destinations, with over 70% of students securing their first-choice placement.

  • Top UK Universities: RMS leavers are attending over 35 UK universities. The most popular destinations this year are Bristol, Exeter, and Edinburgh, with students reading subjects ranging from Psychology to Law to Neuroscience.

  • Specialist & Competitive Degrees: 100% of Oxbridge were accepted (to read Theology, Religion & Philosophy of Religion and Classics), three are heading to Veterinary school, and two are off to study Medicine.

  • Creative & Early Years Excellence: A number of students are joining the prestigious University of the Arts London (UAL) across disciplines like Architecture and Fashion Design, while one student has joined the world-famous Norland College for early childhood studies.

  • Global Success: Students are also making an impact internationally, attending renowned institutions such as Rotterdam Erasmus University, Lingnan University in Hong Kong, the University of Miami, and Holy Cross College in the USA.

"I am thrilled with these results which demonstrate once again that the hard work of students and staff is being recognised. I am of course pleased to see so many students achieving all A/A* grades but know that behind every grade there is an individual story of success. This was a year group of students who had really taken advantage of developing themselves beyond the curriculum and being a full part of the Futures programme that we offer. Their good nature, sense of fun and ambition really shone through this morning when we celebrated so many successes."

- Mrs Clare Freeman, Head of Sixth Form.

Looking Ahead

These results reflect not only academic achievement, but also the resilience, passion, and supportive community that define RMS for Girls. Whether moving on to competitive university courses, degree apprenticeships, or exciting gap year initiatives, our 2026 leavers depart with the confidence and qualifications to thrive.

Behind every grade is a unique journey and a student with their own personal story to tell. Over the coming days, we look forward to highlighting these inspiring individual successes across our website and social media channels.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026, their families, and our dedicated teaching staff!
