On Wednesday 22nd November the Year 6 Chamber Choir made a visit to the Watford Social Centre for the Blind to sing and perform a variety of pieces to a delighted audience. This was a fantastic opportunity to spend time connecting the pupils with the local community.

Jenny Marsh, Lead Volunteer of Watford Social Centre for the Blind and RMS Alumnae (and an ex-PE Teacher at the school too!) said of the event:

“All our members have a visual impairment, some completely blind and some with reduced vision, but listening to music is an activity they can all enjoy and join in with.

The choir were fantastic with a programme including well known songs that everyone could hum along or even join in with, and new songs that we hadn’t heard before but were beautifully sung. The girls’ voices raised the roof, put a smile on everyone’s faces and lifted the spirits.

Our members all commented on how they had enjoyed chatting to the girls before they left and how polite and articulate they were. We hope they all enjoyed the visit as much as we enjoyed having them and look forward to seeing them again soon. Special thanks to Mrs Bentham for her work in putting together such an enjoyable afternoon and to the soloists who sang and played so well.”

What an absolute delight to welcome RMS Cadogan House pupils back again to sing and play the piano for our members.
