Last night, RMS was delighted to open its doors to over 100 prospective Sixth Form families for this year’s Sixth Form Preview event – an evening dedicated to helping both current RMS pupils and visiting families discover what makes Sixth Form life at RMS truly special and unique.

The evening began across our dedicated Sixth Form spaces in Hind House and Weybridge, where families were greeted with delicious refreshments and a welcoming, friendly atmosphere.

Prospective students and their parents had the opportunity to mingle with other families and connect directly with our passionate Heads of Department. With 30 options to choose from, alongside our bespoke RMS Edge framework, departments showcased the breadth and depth of our academic offering, discussing how options are tailored around each student’s individual ambitions, interests, and strengths.

Why Choose RMs Sixth Form?

Following the subject discussions, guests gathered in our performing arts venue, The Space, for a series of inspiring presentations highlighting the supportive and empowering ethos of RMS.

  • Mr Kevin Carson, Headteacher, opened the event by speaking on the school’s overarching educational philosophy, where academic challenge goes hand in hand with exceptional pastoral care.
  • Miss Jennie Simmonite, Head of Sixth Form, and Miss Kate Woodward, Deputy Head of Sixth Form, shared their vision for the Sixth Form journey, outlining how our tailored pathways, Futures’ Education programme, and leadership opportunities prepare young women to step into the world with confidence and resilience.
  • Speaking openly about their journeys, current Sixth Form students spoke passionately about why they have loved learning and thriving at RMS, from stepping into leadership roles to feeling uniquely supported as individuals.

Why Choose RMS Sixth Form?

Choosing where to study for Sixth Form is one of the most exciting decisions a young person will make. Beyond outstanding academic results, RMS Sixth Form offers a unique blend of freedom and structure:

  • Tailored Academic & Enrichment Pathways: From the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) to Boardroom Discussions and Futures’ Focus career seminars.
  • Dedicated Facilities: Spaces like Hind House and Weybridge provide a mature, university-style environment where students can study, collaborate, and relax.
  • An Empowering All-Girls Environment: Our Sixth Form provides a supportive space free from stereotypes where young women develop intellectual bravery, excel academically, and build unshakeable confidence (as explored further in our article on the benefits of an all-girls education).
  • A Community Where Every Pupil Thrives: Small class sizes, strong mentorship, and an inclusive culture ensure that every young woman finds her voice and reaches her potential.
