On 2nd/3rd February, Freya (Year 10), competed in the Essex and Eastern Indoor Championships in Shot Put and Long jump.
In the shot put, she achieved a new personal best of 12.81m, which put her in gold medal position, despite the fact that she is only in the first year Under 17 category. This fantastic result assured her not only the qualification standard for the English Schools Competition in June but also the national standard – Freya is now ranked 4th in the UK – an outstanding achievement!
Freya also competed in the long jump and came 4th with a jump of 5m exactly.
Well done to Freya – and good luck for Nationals, we will of course report back on how she gets on!
