Year 3 became explorers for the day when they visited ‘The Living Rainforest’ as part of their Geography topic
At the Living Rainforest visitors can experience the sights, sounds and smells of a lush tropical rainforest. There are three glasshouses which are home to over 650 rainforest plants and animals – including rare and endangered species of global conservation value. During their guided tour, the girls were given a fascinating insight into life in the rainforest. Some of the animals they got to see included the two toed sloth, blue poison dart frogs and Rio the green iguana who is actually red!
It was a great day out for the girls, and they all enjoyed seeing the animals and plants they have been learning about in the classroom.
