WUXI 2025: CADET & JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
We are thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of sisters Issie (2024) and Katie, who were both selected to represent Great Britain at the recent World Fencing Championships in their respective age groups – U20 and U17. With only the top three or four athletes in the country chosen to compete on the world stage, having both sisters attend the Championships together is an exceptional achievement.
Katie – ranked number one nationally in the U17 category – was invited to step up and join the U20 GB team following an injury to one of its original members. Rising to the challenge, she joined Issie as part of the four-strong U20 women’s foil squad.
The GB U20 Women’s Foil Team, secured a phenomenal 6th place finish out of 33 teams from across the globe – many of which featured former Olympians. A tremendous result and a testament to their skill, determination and composure under pressure.
We are incredibly proud of both Issie (2024) and Katie for this incredible achievement.
