Congratulations to the 26 RMS students who took on the challenge of the Cambridge Model United Nations this weekend, securing an impressive seven awards—an outstanding achievement!
Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation where students step into the shoes of world leaders, representing different countries in debates on global issues. It challenges participants to think critically, negotiate diplomatically, and develop public speaking skills while working toward real-world solutions.

RMS embodied the school value of courage this weekend, as 26 almost exclusively first-time delegates, represented as many countries in competitive debate and diplomacy at the Cambridge MUN conference. Working with pupils from across the U.K., Belize, the USA and Indonesia (to name just a selection) our pupils have formed friendships, learned the ropes of international diplomacy and honed their public speaking. Despite their nerves, weeks of preparation paid off and RMS won no fewer than 7 awards for best delegate, best first-time delegate and an honourable mention. We are immensely proud of all of our pupils, for putting themselves out of their comfort zones, stepping into the shoes of a country that is not their own, and doing so with such compassion and grace.
Congratulations to our award winners at the Cambridge Model United Nations for their outstanding achievements in diplomacy and debate: Eda S. (Year 11), Annabel H. (Year 11), Eva D. (Year 12), Najma D. (Year 12), Kya K. (Year 12), Amanda M. (Year 12), and Mitzi S. (Year 12). Well done to all!
