On Saturday 25th November, the Under 9, Under 10 and Under 11 gym squad teams competed at the IAPS championships at Kent College. This was a very big competition as there were 450 girls and boys competing. This was a five piece competition of group floor routine, set floor, voluntary floor, set vault and voluntary vault.
The girls competing in the Under 9 team were Scarlett, Rihanna, Ophelia, Annabelle and Eleanor. The girls in the Under 10 team were Hannah, Ritika, Sophie and Sowmiya. A huge congratulations to Ritika who had to step into Olivia's position in the group only two days before the competition as Olivia is sadly in hospital – we wish her a speedy recovery. The girls in the Under 11 team were Evie, Sophia, Glory, Georgie and myself.
The Under 9 girls came 3rd as a team, the Under 10 girls came 2nd in the group routine and the Under 11 girls came 4th in the group routine. Special congratulations to Isobel who came 6th individually. I hope everyone in the team had lots of fun and enjoyed the competition; we are now looking forward to our third competition of the term next weekend.
