Congratulations to our gymnasts from across the School who competed at the British Schools finals in Stoke on Trent at the weekend
Junior Squad
Sophie, Captain of the Under 11 squad, recounts the experience here:
Our squad had done really well in the qualifying rounds to get to the National Finals for the individual floor and vault. We did very well on both pieces and were so excited when we found out that we had come third in the country! We were placed first together with Tormead School for the region.
Sadly, this was our last competition of the year, so I would like to thank all our gym coaches for their support and to the girls for being absolutely amazing this year and for their commitment and perseverance; it has been phenomenal being the gym captain this year and I hope next year the Under 11 squad have as much fun and success as we have had.
Senior Squad
The senior girls also performed brilliantly at the national finals with the Under 14 group coming 7th. Congratulations also to Mia and Sophia for coming 7th in their pair.
Unfortunately the Over 13 girls had a false start on a balance but still performed the rest of their group routine to a high standard to achieve 6th place overall.
Well done to all the girls on a fantastic competition
