From Monday 23rd to Friday 27th June, RMS for Girls proudly celebrated Diversity & Belonging Week 2025, a much-anticipated event that brought together our school community to recognise and embrace the rich tapestry of cultures, identities, and experiences that make RMS such a special place to learn and grow.

This week consisted of a packed programme of activities, workshops, and competitions aimed at encouraging students to celebrate difference, promote inclusion, and foster a genuine sense of belonging within the school.

Throughout the week, students were encouraged to take part in two exciting competitions. The Creative Writing Competition invited pupils to submit poems, short stories or playscripts based on the theme Everyone Belongs, offering a chance to express their creativity. The Humanities Competition asked students to celebrate an inspiring figure of their choice through research, art or creative writing.

Each day of the week featured a variety of activities designed to promote cultural awareness, encourage open conversations, and celebrate the unique contributions of every member of the RMS community:

There were plenty of opportunities for students to broaden their cultural awareness and take part in new experiences. From taster language lessons and artistic workshops to learning basic British Sign Language, the week provided an opportunity for everyone to celebrate the diversity within our community. The school also came alive with colour during the Diversity Fair, where students explored cultural stalls, displays and performances, and contributed to a beautiful rangoli art project.

To round off the week, students took part in our Culture Dress Celebration, proudly wearing clothing that reflected their culture, heritage, interests or personal identity. The celebrations continued with traditional dancing, a fashion show and the Take a Stand charity event, reflecting our ongoing commitment to inclusion and social responsibility.

A huge thank you to Ms Gardner, the Belonging Team, and everyone who helped to organise and support the many events that made Diversity & Belonging Week 2025 such a success across the school.
