RMS for Girls is delighted to announce another exceptional year of A-level results, with our students achieving higher value added than 90% of independent schools in the UK.

To celebrate this success, we spoke with members of the class of 2024 to learn about their exciting next steps and how RMS has played a pivotal role in shaping their futures.

Here’s Jenna’s story.

Can you tell us your results and what you are doing next?

I achieved A*AA, with the A* being in politics and the two A’s being in History and Economics and this year in September I’m going to Durham University to study Law.

What’s been your favourite thing about RMS Sixth Form?

My favourite part of RMS Sixth Form has definitely been the opportunities afforded to us, they’re endless. Specifically, to name one opportunity, going on trips related to our subjects: last October, I went on a History and Politics trip to Washington and New York, which was amazing. We learned loads about the Cold War and US history; it was brilliant!

What are you looking forward to the most about your next step?

One of the things I’m most looking forward to at Durham is studying a subject that’s new to me and that I’m genuinely interested in. I’m excited to go into depth and explore all the new opportunities available to me.

How has RMS supported you during your time at the School?

One of the main ways RMS has supported me is through the teachers. They’ve been amazing, really guiding us through A-Levels, especially with all the stress. In particular, they made sure we were up to date with everything and were incredible at marking essays. I know I had quite a lot of essays to submit, which I really appreciated. Overall, they’ve just been incredibly supportive.

What would you say to someone who is considering Sixth Form at RMS?

I’d probably advise them that it might be initially scary to move to a new Sixth Form, especially if you don’t know anyone here, but I’d say just take the leap—do it.

Everyone here is so friendly, including the teachers and the students. It’s a brilliant environment that really fosters your learning, well-being, and provides great pastoral support.
