Last night the Music Department hosted an impressive Chamber Concert, showcasing the talents of our gifted students.
The eclectic mix of instruments used during the event brought an exciting and diverse experience to the audience. The performers gave it their all and delivered an exceptional show.
The concert included various pieces such as Reverie by Claude Debussy, played beautifully by Zakia on piano, and Innocence by J.F.F. Burgmuller, played with grace by Victoria. The audience was also delighted by the charming and light-hearted Bourree & Branle de Quercy from Three French Dances, directed by Kathryn, which was performed by an impressive flute ensemble comprising Zakia, Ciara, and Eda.
The violinist, Melanie, also captivated the audience with her stunning performances of Violin Concerto, 1st Movement by Max Bruch and Allegretto from Miniatures by Frank Bridge, where she played in a trio alongside Abigail on cello and Sarah on piano. Moreover, the show included a beautiful rendition of The Swan from Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Seans, played masterfully by Amaya on the cello.
Other noteworthy performances included Sarabande et Allegro by Gabriel, performed with impeccable technique by Emily on alto saxophone, and Aria by John Rutter, performed by Avantika on flute, which left the audience in awe.
The concert also featured contemporary pieces such as Yellow, sung by Amaiya, and Watch What Happens from Newsies by Jack Feldman and Alan Menken, sung by Lilia. Additionally, the audience was charmed by Tsemaye’s beautiful rendition of Over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz.
The Chamber Concert at RMS for Girls ended on a high note with Alicia on piano playing Herbstlied by Tchaikovsky, leaving the audience feeling elated and full of pride for our brave performers.
The School is immensely proud of all the performers who participated in the concert and the faculty who supported them. The variety of instruments, pieces, and performers showcased the breadth and depth of talent at the RMS.
The audience was left wanting more and eagerly anticipates the next Chamber Concert.
