At RMS, we are committed to providing our pupils with a modern, relevant, and supportive Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education. We were recently delighted to welcome the specialist team from It Happens Education to lead a series of tailored workshops for pupils in Years 7 through 11.
The sessions were designed to meet pupils at their specific stages of development, tackling both the physical and digital aspects of growing up:
- Digital Wellbeing (Years 9 & 11): Our older pupils engaged in vital discussions regarding their digital lives. Year 9 focused on early digital safety and responsible image sharing, while Year 11 took a deeper dive into the complexities of the modern internet, including the risks of deepfakes and navigating harmful online content.
- Menstrual Health (Years 8 & 10): These sessions provided a supportive space to discuss menstrual health. Topics included understanding and monitoring the cycle, personal hygiene, and common health concerns such as UTIs and the HPV vaccine. By addressing these topics openly, we aim to remove stigma and empower our pupils to manage their health with confidence.

The visit also included a dedicated session for our parent body on 28th January. This evening talk provided parents with the tools and language to continue these important conversations at home, ensuring a consistent support network between school and family life.
We would like to thank the team at It Happens Education for their expertise and for delivering these sessions with such sensitivity and insight.
