Last Friday, Cadogan House welcomed an inspiring visit from Commando Joe’s, a team dedicated to empowering young people by encouraging resilience, self-confidence, and character.

Their mission is to prepare children to thrive in a complex world by equipping them with essential life skills and values. Through engaging programmes, resources, and activities, Commando Joe’s creates opportunities for young learners to develop vital traits such as teamwork, empathy, and self-awareness.

The visit marked the introduction of a Commando Joe’s programme to our school—their Let’s Play initiative. This innovative, pupil-led play enrichment programme encourages positive behaviours and proactive mindsets through various fun, structured activities. Central to the programme is the newly delivered Commando Joe’s Resource Box, brimming with equipment, guides, and materials designed to facilitate over 72 exciting games and activities during our break and lunch times.

Eight enthusiastic Year 6 pupils were selected to receive training from the Commando Joe’s team, transforming them into our very own “Junior Joe’s.” During the morning session, they explored the resource box, learned how to organise and deliver activities safely, and embraced Commando Joe’s core values: Resilience, Empathy, Self-Awareness, Passion, Excellence, Communication, and Teamwork. These values align seamlessly with our school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded, capable individuals.

The morning finished with a special assembly where the newly trained Junior Joe’s proudly unveiled our new resource box to the rest of the school, demonstrating one of the engaging new games, growing excitement and anticipation among their peers for the activities to come.

We’re really grateful to Commando Joe’s for their invaluable resources and expert training, and with the energy and enthusiasm of our new Junior Joe’s, we look forward to witnessing the positive impact of these activities across our playground in the weeks and months ahead.
