On Wednesday, 13th November, RMS held its inaugural in-person Celebration of Diversity Evening, a powerful event following our successful Diversity and Belonging Week. The Diversity and Belonging Week included a Cultures Fair and a dynamic fashion show, set the stage for our evening’s celebration, which brought our community together in a vibrant display of unity and diversity.

This was instigated by our wonderful Diversity prefects Thihalini M and Saania M who were very keen to hold an event where we could showcase and celebrate the diversity within and across our school community.

The evening showcased an array of perspectives and talents, with members of our RMS community sharing stories, insights, and experiences on topics ranging from the importance of supporting female entrepreneurs to understanding cultural identity and the meaning of belonging. Speakers inspired the audience with reflections on diversity, the beauty of mixed heritage, and personal journeys that highlighted the power of inclusion and representation.

In addition to talks, the evening included moving performances of poetry, ballet, and contemporary dance, with each piece embodying themes of identity, acceptance, and empowerment. The creative talents of our students and staff helped bring the values of diversity and belonging to life through artistic expression, creating an atmosphere of celebration and reflection.

A big thank you to Miss Simmonite & Ms Gardner (EDI Leads) and all the students, staff, and families who contributed. This event is a testament to the incredible diversity and talents within our community. Your participation and support remind us of the beauty of unity in diversity.
