Alexa, Angelia and Hattie, all Year 8 students, have entered the National Cyber Security Centre CyberFirst Competition.
This is an annual Year 8 girls only competition involving around 12,000 12-13 year olds across the UK. From next week, the girls will be deciphering a series of online puzzles, and from there top 10 teams in the country then proceed to the Grand Final in Scotland in March.
The competition aims to provide a fun but challenging environment to encourage and inspire the next generation of young women to consider computer science as an option with a view to a future career in cyber security. The girls will have the opportunity to learn more about cybersecurity and practise skills in a simulated real-world environment.
Good luck girls – we will let you know how they get on soon!
